Dog bloat, also known as gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV), is a life-threatening condition that can occur when a dog’s stomach fills with gas and twists. This can cause the stomach to rupture, which can lead to death. Bloat is most common in large, deep-chested breeds such as Great Danes, German Shepherds, and Standard Poodles. However, it can occur in any breed of dog.
